Multivariable Calculus from Graphical, Numerical, and Symbolic Points of View
by Arnold Ostebee and Paul Zorn,
             Saunders College Publishers, ISBN

Materials: A scientific calculator is a necessity. Graphing calulators are optional.

Attendance: Regular attendance is expected and required. See Attendance and Grading Procedures in the Student Handbook or in the catalog for the official college policy. If you miss class twice in succession, please send me an email explaining your absences and to obtain your assignments.

Evaluation:

Final Grade: Homework: Regular homework is assigned at the end of each class meeting and will be gone over in the next class if you ask for it.

Tests: There will be three tests given during the semester (each worth 100 points). Makeup tests are not automatic; you must discuss this with the instructor promptly should an emergency arise that prevents you from taking a test.

Labs: Lab groups will be formed during the first week of class. One person each week will be repsonsible for writing up and handing in the lab report. Late labs are not accepted.  A collaborative effort is strongly encouraged; however, if for the actual write-up a student wishes to write an individual report, that is permitted. Each lab is worth 15 points.   The lab writeup from one lab session is due at the beginning of the next lab.  Make sure that the names of all members of your team who contributed are listed, and indicate who wrote the lab writeup this time.  There will be 11 labs, and the lowest lab grade will be dropped.EACH STUDENT MUST DO THE WRITE-UP FOR AT LEAST THREE LABS DURING THE SMESTER. FAILURE TO DO THIS WILL RESULT IN POINTS DEDUCTED FROM YOUR TOTAL SEMESTER ACCUMULATION.

Projects: There will be  project(s) assigned during the semester; each student hands in each project.

Quizzes: There will be six quizes (but no makeup quizzes). The instructor will drop your lowest quiz grade when computing your final average. Each quiz is worth 10 points.
