ELEMENTARY ALGEBRA

TEXT:

ASSESSMENTS:

GRADES: A (90-100), B(80-89), C(70-79) or F(less than 70)

ATTENDANCE:
The college policy on attendance states that you are expected to attend all classes.  Only illness, observance of religious holidays, or serious personal matters may explain an absence.  To provide for these, you are entitled, without question, to absences amounting to the equivalent of one week's class time, a total of 4 hours: a one day absence is 2 hours.  Missing 12 hours of this course may result in withdrawal without prior notice or refund, and as a result the Registrar may withdraw you from all your credit courses.
If you know you will miss class you should notify me.  When an unanticipated absence of more than two consecutive class days occurs, you should notify the Dean of Student Affairs immediately.

ASSISTANCE:
If you experience difficulties at any time during the course, you should discuss these with me.  The following assistance is available to you in the Math Lab, Room S-020.

The phone number of the lab is 526-1200 ext. 8393.  The hours the lab is open will be posted outside the doors.

If you have been classified or were in a special class, you are entitled to special accommodations and support.  You must inform me of your needs as soon as possible.  This information will be entirely individual and confidential.

CALCULATORS:
The department policy is that calculators may not be used in any basic skills class.

CHALLENGING YOUR INITIAL PLACEMENT:
If you feel that your score on the placement test does not represent your algebraic abilities, you may take another test to challenge your placement, subject to the following conditions.
